Farouk Adams first half volley handed Goldstars home victory as they hosted Dreams FC at the Duns Park for Ghana premier league match day 23.

Coach Michael Osei made four changes in their last defeat to Accra Lions. Midfielder Godfred Kyei, Michael Enu Steven Owusu and Prince Opoku Agyemang returning to the team – with the home team lining up in a 4:3:3 formation against Dreams 4:4:2 formation.

From the opening kick Dreams were forced to ball-watch. And when they did wrest hold of it Huzaf Ali, leading attack for the day, and Kwaku Karikari were both careless. Goldstars started dominating with in vital areas of the attack with some good openings but could not Augustine Koomson. Evans Owusu went close for the host but his snap short went just wide.

Dreams came in again, Huzaf Ali bursting in on goal, after a well-precise pass from Captain Abdul Jalilu, though his shot disappointed – the movement of Goldstars goalkeeper Yaw Ansah Fufro was spot on – Dreams hoped this might settle Goldstars.

But no: the rest of the contest was dire from them, as Augustine Koomson again emerged as their finest performer. Saving from Prince Owusu Kwabena’s close range short.

Farouk Adams put the Miners in front with a well delivered 25-yards free kick into the top corner when striker Stephen Owusu was brought down.

Dreams FC made two changes after the break. With Coach Abdul Karim Zito introducing Samuel Boakye and Sadat Mohammed.

Moments later as the scores stood the same the Dawu based club brought on youngster Blessing Dana Jones and Abdul Razak Salifu– Dreams started gaining some momentum and controlling the midfield until Goldstars changed Prince Ooku Agyemang for Charles Gyamfi Kamara.

By the final whistle, huge credit had to go to Michael Osei and his team as they move up to 12 on the league log with 29 points.
