The annual CAF Awards enters its 26th edition this year and on Thursday, 4th January 2018, the King of African football will be crowned at the International Conference Centre in Accra the Capital of Ghana.
Speaking ahead of the event through the help of an interpreter, the CAF President is full of praise for the various teams especially Liverpool for allowing their players to attend the event
“I will like to thank all the nominees that are gathering here supporting as expected and particularly Liverpool Football Club which had two players among the Nominees and committed to make the presence of this players possible in Ghana.”
He also commanded the president of the republic and his able friend and vice president of CAF, kwesi Nyantakyi for their effort they have exhibited in the organization of the event.
“I will like to thank Ghanaian republic particularly the Head of State, H.E Nana Akuffo Addo for the support provided to make this event a success”.
“Also, I will like to thank my friend Kwesi Nyantakyi who is the CAF vice president and president of the committee put in place to prepare this event and to make sure that everything will be well organized.”
The Caf president also emphasize that the Awards is sponsored by Aiteo but not Glo and he can’t explain why Globacom decided to pull out one year before the expiration of their contract.
“It is not our duty to explain why they are out, they know, they cancel the contract one year before the end and Aiteo came in without questioning the engagement and supporting with that regard so Aiteo is the new sponsor of CAF Awards”.
The president considers the Press and administrators as two parties that are unique and can create good link to promote African football.
The nominees are expected to hold a press conference at the international conference center on Thursday 4th January, 2018 at 15;45 GMT before the start of the main event.
