The South African midfield sensation has stated that her side is ready to do battle against Nigerians super falcons for the ultimate in the Total African Women’s Nations Cup.
Bayana Bayana secured their final spot after beating Mali 2-0 at the Cape Coast stadium today.
The Houston Dash player won the Woman of the match award and had this to say to reporters after the match.
“Am really happy to have played today and helping bayana bayana qualify for the world cup is a dream come through for me, because I have never been to a world cup before.
Winning the woman of the match is very important, since going to the finals is a do and die, we had to come as one entity and a team to finish the job and that’s what we did.”
They now face the super falcons in Accra on December 1, for the final match.
“Our team is so amazing. We fight as a team, we play as a team. I must say we are ready to face Nigeria.
I won’t say that the team done this. Is the technical team. The backroom staff we have are so amazing.
They take in our opinions whenever and however, they put in hundred percent effort and that’s what I think has guided as to be amazing.”
South Africa is the second African team to secure qualification to next year’s world Cup in France after Nigeria. They now face each other for the second time in this tournament for the ultimate.
