Athletico Madrid goalkeeper Jan Oblak has been crowned the LaLiga Player of the Season 2020/2021.
The Slovenia stopper Oblak was ever-present for Atletico as they edged out rivals Real Madrid to win the league- beating a stern competitions from Lionel Messi who finished the year as the top scorer, Athletico’s leading goalscorer Luis Suraez and Real Madrid’s Karim Benzema.
Oblak made 103 saves for Atletico Madrid boasting an 80% save percentage for the season. The 28-year-old goalkeeper kept the highest number of clean sheets during the 20-21 season with Atletico not conceding a goal in 18 of their 38 league matches.
The 28-year-old conceded just 25 goals in all 38 games – the best record in the league.
