Medeama has filed an appeal against the decision of the Ghana Football Association asking former employee Samuel Boadu to pay the club GH₵ 30,000 as compensation for unilateral termination of his contract.
The Mauve and Yellows met its late-Tuesday deadline to challenge the decision of the Player Status Committee.
The club has taken the decision to appeal against the selective decision of the committee.
“We are firm in our resolve that the committee erred in law and failed to apply the rules appropriately.”
The club is asking the Appeals Committee to overturn the selective decision of the Player Status Committee and make definitive declarations to restore confidence in the judicial system.
Medeama were seeking for “substantial damages” in the region of GH₵ 320,000 for the arbitrary decision by the the coach including compensation.
But the Status Committee rejected the residual value of the unexpired contract petition by the club.
Boadu tendered a shocking resignation on February 25, 2021 but signed a permanent contract with Ghanaian giants Hearts of Oak a week later after three years with the club.
