The Ghana football Association has postponed Ashantigold Sporting club’s premeir league fixture against giants Asante Kotoko due to security reasons.
This comes after AshantiGold were demoted to Division Two for their involvement in a match manipulation.
The Miners were found guilty on three counts by the disciplinary committee of the Ghana football Association.
Even though the sanctions will take effect from next season, there has been several reports of supporters unrest at Obuasi which led to the postponement.
The week 29 fixture which was slated on Wednesday, 19th May 2022 saw both clubs moving to their various camps ahead of the crunch Ashanti derby.
“Our game agaisnt Ashantigold slated for Tomorrow has been called off by the Ghana football Association due to security reasons. Asante Kotoko posted the changes via official Twitter handle.
“Unfortunately, the team arrived in Obuasi Wednesday afternoon ahead of the game on Thursday.”
