The Ghana football Association has imposed a 10-year ban on Dr Kweku Frimpong for match fixing.
The president of the Ghana premier side Ashantigold was found guilty of influencing the Ghana premier league match day 34 results in the 2020/21 season when his team hosted Inter Allies football club at the Obuasi Len Clay stadium.
The disciplinary committee found a strong evidence of match fixing between Dr Kwaku Frimpong and Nii Amoah Gogo, who was described as a ‘defacto official’ of Inter Allies football club.
“The president of Ashantigold SC Dr. Kwaku Frimpong is banned from taking part in any football-related activity for a period of 120 months in accordance with article 34.5(d)(1) of the Ghana premier league Regulations 2019.
“That a fine of One hundred Thousand Ghana Cedis (GHC 100,000) is imposed on Dr. kwaku Frimpong in accordance with Articla 34.5(d)(ii)of the Ghana premier league regulations 2019.
