Freddy Twum has revealed that Arsenal star Eddie Nketiah will play for Ghana ‘possibly before the 2022 world Cup’, the player’s trainer reveals.
“At some point, Eddie Nketiah will come but I hope it will be before the World Cup”, Twum told Kumasi-based radio station Pure FM.
“When he comes it will really help the Black Stars. Jordan Ayew is fading out and if (Nketiah) comes it will really help us”.
The British-born Ghanaian has been under the radar of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) for some time now, with the FA said to have identified him as a possible addition to the Black Stars team.
The attempts to convince the player to play for Ghana is yet to yield any positive outcome with the GFA still confident in their pursuit.
Nketiah is England’s all-time record scorer at Under 21 level, having netted 16 goals in 17 appearances.
