The Ex-Ghana Football Association (GFA) president, Lepowura Alhaji Mohammed Nuru-Deen Jawula dies at the age of 73.
The 73 year old died after a short illness while in the United State of America. Multiple Report says he was earlier admitted to the University of Ghana Medical Centre before being flown out to the United States of America for further treatment where he passed on.
Confirming the death in a post via social media, the Ghana Football Association said it was saddened by the news of MND Jawula’s death.
“Our thoughts are with his family, friends and all who knew him,” the association wrote.
Alhaji Jawula was the Chairman of the GFA from 1997-2001.
He also chaired the MTN FA CUP Committee and was the Chairman of the Ghana Premier League Organizing Committee until his demise.
He also served as the Chief Director of the Ministry of Finance at a stage in his illustrious career.
Alhaji Jawula was also the Lepowura of the Kujolobito Gate of Lepo-Kpembe in the Northern Region.
