Ghana defender Gideon Mensah has been ruled out of the African Cup of Nations qualifier against Madagascar through injury
The AJ Auxerre left back will therefore play no part in the crucial AFCON qualifier.
The team’s medical head Dr. Prince Pambo disclosed that Gideon absence is as a result of injury he picked at his club during the course of the season. The decision to withdraw him from camp precautionary.
Gideon’s absence could pave way for Patrick Kpozo to make his Blackstars debut.
Denis Odoi however remains an option after he played as a left wing back for Ghana in the second leg against Nigeria in the 2022 world cup qualifier.
Gideon who made his Ghana debut against South Africa in 2019 has featured in one African cup of Nations and the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
