The Nigerian Football Federation has confirmed the appointment of George Finidi as the interim head of the Super Eagles of Nigeria.
The ex-Nigerian star replaces Jose Peseiro in an interim position ahead of the Ghana and Mali matches.
“Coach George Finidi has held a meeting with Super Eagles team officials as he leads the Super Eagles in an international friendlies against Ghana and Mali”A statement from the Nigerian Football Federation official Twitter handle confirms.
The former Ajax star will lead Nigeria when they host Ghana on Friday, 22nd March 2024 in Marrakech, Morocco.
The 52-year-old coach was one of the longest-standing assistants to Peseiro, spending 22 months alongside the Portuguese coach. His familiarity with the team is seen as an advantage ahead of the Ghana and Mali fixtures.
