Zone two table-toppers Bibiani Goldstars have opened up an eye-watering seven-point gap over rivals Sky FC after Simon Timtooni fired Kwabena Amissah’s men to victory.

Timtooni’s precision strike, was all it required, hitting a low non-drop drive into the net inside 64th minute.

With Sky FC bottling a 3-4 defeat to Samartex marks a very special week for the people of Bibianiman in the Western North Region.

Amissah named an unchanged team for the second successive match at the Famous Dun’s Park. If there was consistency in the selection it was not reflected on the pitch as Goldstars were well below their usual standards with the crispness and composure in front of goal absent.

Everything seemed to be half a yard short or off target as the quick, but nevertheless they were still able to carve out chances, as they always seem to do at Dun’s Park.

In the first 20 minutes it was a tensed game with moments of bright chances for the home side.

On couple of occasions Proud United had lucky escapes as Goldstars game caught them out with the Bibiani based team scoring a goal in the process which was disallowed by the referee.

Immediately the hosts sprang into action with trademark proficiency, a long ball to Kyei who laid off for Timtooni’s lethal wright foot to do the damage.

The victory puts the Gye Nyame team and second-placed Sky FC to seven points as Goldstars triumphed 1-0 at Dan’s Park.

Goldstars looked the dominant side they have been this season as they continue to get closer to their main target this season, bouncing back with successive victories along the road.

Goldstars takes a long trip to Swedru as they play as guest to Unistar Academy.
